Teen Leadership Institute Coordinator

Latinitas is recruiting a couple of Teen Leadership Institute Coordinators. These volunteers would help us lead the six-month leadership institute for high school girls. They would help recruit members, plan our monthly workshops, attend monthly meetings, teach girls leadership principals, coordinate guest speakers, organize activities, mentor participants and guide girls in organizing service projects. Housing Authority Club Mentors

Volunteers are needed to assist with mentoring girls (in grades 4-8th) at Latinitas' Housing Authority Clubs. These clubs meet weekly for a six-week period at various housing centers around town. Volunteers are asked to volunteer one day a week, between the hours 4:30pm to 6:30pm through July 20th. Volunteers are needed at the following sites: Tuesdays at Rio Grande Community Center (central), Wednesdays at the Roosevelt Community Center (northeast). El Paso Public Library Teen Fest Concert & Car Show

Saturday June 4th from 12:00pm- 6:00pm at Cohen Stadium (9700 Gateway North). The El Paso Public Library kicks-off its 7-week Summer Reading Club by hosting their annual Teen Fest. El Paso Teens are invited to come and enjoy live entertainment, carnival and information booths, along with a car and bike show at no cost. Latinitas will host an information booth at this event and volunteers are needed to help run a photo booth and distribute Latinitas literature. Latina Power Conference

Saturday June 4, from 10am-4pm at the UTEP Union East. Club Mentors Wanted

Make a difference in a girl's life as a mentor in our weekly after-school programs.  Latinitas hosts media enrichment clubs where girls can build confidence through creative expression. Mother's Day Writing Contest

Global Youth Service Day

Latinitas has joined Global Youth Service Day, the largest service event in the world that mobilizes millions of youth to improve their communities. As part of the El Paso GYSD Celebration planning team, Latinitas is promoting youth volunteerism at a kick-off festival at the Chamizal to encourage youth to get involved in their community. Female volunteers are needed that day for various tasks: provide transportation for some girls to the UTEP campus and back, set-up, mentor girls, serve as a speaker in the panel discussions, lead small team building activities, break down and clean-up.

Latinitas Yard Sale-Klothes Lime Benefit- March 19, 7:00-3:00pm at Klothes Lime Buy-Sell-Trade Fashion (1805 Montana) Latinitas is accepting donated items to sell at the yard sale, some of the items may include: furniture, appliances, household items/gadgets, books, clothing, toys, etc. All items should be in good condition. Volunteers are also needed to set up, sell and break down on the day of the yard sale. Latinitas also encourages the public to shop for a good cause inside Klothes Lime Fashion from 10:00am-7:00pm. Shop for anything in women or men’s fashion and 50% of the proceeds will go to help support our girl empowerment programs.
