Latinitas is currently recruiting volunteers for our Girl Empowerment Team.  This team of dedicated volunteers help empower young Latinas by organizing girl empowerment conferences, planning scholarship benefits, mentoring young girls, leading after-school clubs, serving as guest speakers and helping plan our workshops. Volunteer Orientation - 2/7

February 7th from 5:30 to 6:30pm at Latinitas Headquarters (1359 Lomaland, Suite 502) Latinitas invites professional women to become part of our volunteer team and help us raise community awareness and funds to support our mission of empowering Latina youth. Saturday Camp - 2/12

Saturday, February 12, 1:00-3:00pm at Judge Marquez Public Library (610 N. Yarbrough). Volunteers are needed to assist the camp leader and mentor girls (in grades 4^th-8^th) with hands-on media arts activities. These camps occur the 2^nd Saturday of every month, so on-going mentoring is gladly accepted as well. Club Members Wanted - Weekly After-School Clubs

Latinitas is looking for female volunteers who are interested in working with girls at least 2-3 hours one day a week during our after-school clubs. Our clubs are aimed at girls in grades 4^th-8^th and they take place in several libraries & community centers around town. Club Mentors are needed to assist the Club Leader, help with recruitment and guide girls through fun, hands-on activities. Latinitas Teen Leadership Institute Kick-Off 1/29

Saturday, January 29, 10:00-4:30pm at the Main Public Library (501 North Oregon). Latinas is launching its second Teen Leadership Institute where local female teens interested in learning more about leadership and volunteerism are encouraged to apply.  Volunteers are also needed the day of the event to help with set up, run through and break down.  Volunteers are needed to help with planning these monthly leadership workshops, arranging future guest speakers to speak at the workshops and acquiring donations such money, door prizes, supplies or food.
